Loki quickly gets arrested by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) for interfering with the Sacred Timeline once he seizes the Tesseract. Agent Mobius takes Loki in for interrogation rather than punishing him, revealing his terrible fate. After learning about his mother's passing and his own destiny, Loki is shocked and starts to doubt free will. After discovering that TVA employees are Variants just like him, Loki becomes involved in apprehending Sylvie, a renegade Loki Variant. From post-apocalyptic Pompeii, they go to Lamentis-1, a crumbling moon, where their relationship becomes stronger. Together, they reveal the truth: the TVA is a hoax, and the Time-Keepers are phoney. to the End of Time, Loki and Sylvie arrive at the Citadel and encounter He Who Remains, the genuine founder, who gives them the option to either control the TVA or assassinate him and risk anarchy. Despite Loki's entreaties, Sylvie murders him out of retaliation. When Loki returns to the TVA, it has changed, and nobody recognises him. The Multiverse has begun, according to a new statement, and a Variant of He Who Remains is now in control.
