As the God of Mischief learns that the Time Variance Authority (TVA) is about to fail, he finds himself time-slipping between the past, present, and future in Loki Season 2. To settle time, Loki partners up with Mobius, Sylvie, and his new comrade Victor Timely when the Temporal Loom is unable to contain the endless multiverse. Loki comes to the realisation that rescuing reality requires accepting a new, altruistic purpose as the multiverse descends into anarchy. He fixes the Loom itself, securing the timelines around him after innumerable cycles and sacrifices. He then sits by himself at the Citadel at the End of Time, becoming the protector of the multiverse. Mobius decides to live a tranquil life away from the TVA, while the TVA changes into a monitoring agency for He Who Remains variations. Miss Minutes is rebooted, Renslayer meets her demise in the Void, and Sylvie embarks on her journey. Loki redefines his "glorious purpose" in a final act of self-improvement and sacrifice, ensuring the multiverse endures for everyone by exercising guardianship rather than conquest.
