In 1952, Gotya’s obsession with his neighbour Munni leads him to attempt a deadly ritual under the peepal tree in Chetukwadi. After failing and dying during the human sacrifice, his spirit, Munjya, is sealed beneath the tree. Decades later, timid Bittu, a hairdresser in Pune, becomes entwined with Munjya’s curse after his grandmother Gita’s mysterious death during a visit to the village. Munjya begins tormenting Bittu, demanding he marry Bela, Munni’s granddaughter, threatening his family’s lives.
With the help of his cousin, Spielberg, and exorcist Elvis, Bittu learns Munjya must possess a goat through an ancient ritual to wed Bela. When the ritual goes wrong, Bela is possessed, her soul trapped in the goat. After Balu mistakenly kills a goat and consumes its meat, Bela’s spirit inhabits Balu’s body, leading to a frantic battle. Guided by Gita’s spirit, Bittu defeats Munjya by trapping him in the peepal tree and burning it. Though Bela chooses friendship over romance, hints linger that Munjya’s evil may survive. In a mid-credits scene, Bhaskar’s jungle ordeal draws Munjya’s attention anew with a surprising clue, underwear branded "Munni."
