Ghanshyam “Shyam” arrives in Mumbai hoping to get a bank job once held by his late father. However, he learns the position may go to Anuradha, whose father also died in the same accident. While struggling to make ends meet, Shyam meets Raju, a chronic liar who survives on daydreams and scams. Both end up staying at the home of Baburao, a bumbling, near-sighted garage owner burdened with debt. Chaos follows as Raju tricks Shyam into giving up the bank job, causing bitter rivalry.
As financial pressure mounts, the trio receives a misdialed ransom call from a gangster, Kabira. Raju hatches a plan to double the ransom, posing as the kidnapper to profit while rescuing the victim. Though hesitant, Shyam and Baburao join in. What follows is a rollercoaster of mistaken identities, comic exchanges, and a final showdown involving the gang, police, and angry associates. Raju vanishes with the ransom, prompting Shyam and Baburao to confess. But Raju returns, revealing he used the money to help Shyam and his own mother. Ultimately, Devi Prasad rewards them, and a prank call ends their saga with laughter and unity.
